Schneider becoming the 'Norm'

Schneider becoming the 'Norm'

Funnyman Rob Schneider will be voicing a character in stereoscopic 3D family film 'Norm of the North'.

He joins a cast that already includes Ken Jeong ('Couples Retreat', 'The Hangover') and Loretta Devine ('Grey's Anatomy', 'Boston Public').

The animated story will revolve around "the titular polar bear and his three Arctic lemming buddies, who end up in New York after their icy home begins to melt and break apart", Hollywood Reporter wrote. The project was written by Steven and Daniel Altiere, and will be distributed by Lionsgate.

Anthony Bell, who was previously responsible for the CG-animated 'Alpha and Omega', will be serving as director.

"With his latest comedy, 'Grown Ups', grossing R800-million in U.S. theaters so far, Schneider is on the stand-up circuit for the first time in 17 years. His first comedy album, 'Registered Offender', was released recently. Schneider also recently completed filming on 'The Chosen One', a drama he stars in, directed and co-wrote. His upcoming films include the comedies 'You May Not Kiss the Bride' and 'American Virgin'," the site wrote.
