Belinda Peregrin
Belinda Peregrín Schull was born in Madrid on August 15, 1989. At the age of 4 she moved to Mexico City where she has lived with her family ever since.
At a very early age she showed an incredible talent for singing, acting and making home videos that she wrote and shot. When she was 10 she starred in her first TV Series named "Amigos x Siempre (Friends forever)", produced by Televisa in Mexico and was part of the soundtrack of the show. Both the TV Series and the CD became a huge success in Latin America and other parts of the world.
At 11 years old, she starred in her second TV Series named "Aventuras en el tiempo (Adventures in Time)". The series, along with another soundtrack was also very successful around the globe. When she was 12, Belinda starred in her third television series playing twins. The show, "Complices al rescate (Accomplices at the rescue)", was seen in many countries such as the United States, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Chile, Guatemala, Ecuador, Bolivia, Philippines, Indonesia and Spain. Belinda’s double performance as twins separated at birth, one rich and one poor helped the young and talented artist become a household name all over the world.
Just before turning 14 years of age, she releases her first album as a solo artist simply named BELINDA selling more than 800,000 copies all over Latin America. The tour following this álbum was called “Fiesta en la Azotea” achieving the feat of selling out 12 dates at the Mexican National Auditorium. Belinda breaks the female record at the important venue and celebrates by producing a Live DVD called “Fiesta en la Azotea”. More that 100,000 copies of this DVD were sold.
Belinda is very closed to her family. She and her younger brother have grown up in a very warm and encouraging environment. Although she gets the Spanish citizenship from her dad and the French citizenship from her mom, Belinda is also a naturalized Mexican. In 2006 she starred in the Cheetah Girls 2, a Disney Studios production that premiered on the Disney Channel in the US and more than 100 countries all over the world.
In October 2006, Belinda released a new record in the US, Mexico, Central and South America called Utopia. Recorded in Los Angeles, the album contains 13 pop songs produced and composed by some of the best of their kind in the industry; A second part of this successful album was launched a few months later. Utopía 2 (Special Edition/Enhanced), included 18 songs both in English and Spanish and previously unreleased material from Belinda.
Now, her awaited comeback to television is here. Belinda returns as the star of the successful telenovela “Camaleones” and at the same time, she is preparing for the release of her next album in November. As an advance of what she is preparing for us in his new album, BELINDA wrote the music and lyrics of the song “Sal de mi piel” exclusively for the TV series. The song will be included in her album as a bonus track.
“Sal de mi piel” is an uninhibited song that transforms into a subtle ballad with lyrics that are open to a wide variety of interpretations creating a very interesting play on words. The song was produced in Los Angeles by the successful producer Aureo Baqueiro, and will be released simultaneously in México, United States, Argentina and Colombia.
Belinda has received many awards and acknowledgments so far; Gold and Platinum records in Mexico, Central America, Venezuela, Argentina, Chile Colombia, and many other countries. She has been recognized by the Latin Grammys, MTV Latin America awards, Premios Juventud, Premios de la Gente and a long list of honors for her successful acting career.
At her young age, Belinda is a bona fide international star. Her future looks yet more promising, which suggests that for this young and talented actress, singer and songwriter, the sky is the limit!
