Leanne

Leanne was born to entertain! From her humble beginnings at NSA (National School of Arts), where she studied Drama and music, Leanne always stood out in the crowd.

It was in her last years of studying at NSA, that she was discovered singing in Rhema Church, where she lead praise and worship. She was quickly signed to an international record label - Creative Kingdom Records USA and began to develop and perfect her talent to sing on a 3year contract.During her first year at the label, Leanne wrote and performed backing vocals and duets with RnB artist's Loyiso and Danny K in studio and at sold out concerts.

In 2003 Leanne also spent time performing in Spain for two months in a musical production that paid tribute to famous and legendary Soul/RnB artists. She started working on her debut album in April 2005 and finished recording in October that year. After a hard long 6 months of working to create an album that describes whom she is and what her music is all about - "Simply Luvlee" was born.

This album appeals to the young and old, with hard hitting club tracks, beautiful ballads and a heart warming inspirational gospel track called "In Your Hands". Her single "Got Me Going Crazy" grew to be a national radio and club anthem in South Africa, and was quickly picked up on the Dubai music scene. Due to the success of her song on radio in Dubai, Leanne ended up performing as the opening act for Kanye west & Joss Stone at the Dubai Desert Rhythm Festival.

Locally, the song earned her a title in the South African music industry, were she walked away with the "Best Female RnB Album" award at the Metro fm awards. She also performed with Loyiso at the Peoples Concert In Capetown, opening for Snoop Dogg, Pharell Williams, Sean Paul and Mario. In 2008, Leanne was support act, at The Urban Music Festival in Johannesburg and Capetown, where she opened for Fat Joe & Akon.

The same single "Got Me Going Page 2 of 2 Crazy" which was composed by Leanne, was licensed by Universal Records in Europe where Coca Cola ordered and released 75, 000units for a summer campaign.
