Mike Posner - 31 Minutes To Takeoff

Mike Posner says the title of his debut album '31 Minutes To Takeoff' comes from something special that happens on the record: "Something happens 31 minutes into the record. You're going to have to listen to find out what it is. All I can say is that both the listener and I will be in a higher place when it's over."

The 22-year-old's debut is being touted as one of the biggest hit albums in the US in 2010, partly thanks to the success of the single 'Cooler Than Me'.

"“The song was inspired by a girl I went to Duke with, but she doesn't deserve any notoriety," says Posner. "There are girls like that everywhere, and that's why people like the song."

A blend of pop, R&B and hip-hop, Posner co-wrote and co-produced every track on the album, which features collaborations from Benny Blanco (Ke$ha, 3Oh!3), Boyz II Men, Smeezingtons (B.O.B), and Travis Barker.
