Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye is one of two men who killed four teenagers while allegedly drag racing in Soweto.

The popular hip-hop artist and the man who is yet to be named were due to appear in the Protea Magistrate's Court today following the accident yesterday evening.

Maarohanye, who was also a  'Survivor SA: Santa Carolina' contestant, and the unnamed man were racing down the road running between Protea Glen and Protea North in their MINI Coopers when they collided and drove into four boys aged between 17 and 19 walking home from school with two other friends.

Metro police spokesperson Edna Mamonyane said: "It is a two-way street and one of the cars went into the other lane, driving in the lane of oncoming traffic, parallel to one another."

According to Mamonyane when a car came from the other direction one of the drivers tried to swerve back into the right lane and crashed into the other MINI.

"They both drove onto the pavement and mowed down the four young boys who were still in school uniform," Mamonyane said.

The two drivers are facing charges of culpable homicide and negligent and reckless driving.

The two teens injured in the accident are still in a critical condition in hospital.
