Jay Sean in the country

Jay Sean is in South Africa for his much-anticipated 'Jay Sean Live in Concert' tour.

The British singer-songwriter, rapper, beatboxer, and record producer has reportedly brought Akon for his show  and is expected to attract thousands of R&B-lovers.

Sean (29) is one of the most successful British urban artists, having topped the Billboard Hot 100 with his American debut single, 'Down'.

According to reports, in their quest to support local artists, tour promoters Dolphin Concerts have given up-and-coming Pietermaritzburg-based singer Mario Ogle the opportunity to perform as the supporting act at all three shows.

Dates for the show are as follows:

Durban: 29 July at Gateway Wavehouse

Cape Town: 30 July at Good Hope Centre

Johannesburg: 31 July at Emperors Centre Court
