Public Enemy SA bound
Public Enemy are coming to South Africa.
The world-renowned U.S hip hop act, who are also known as PE, will perform in the country in December this year.
According to internet reports, the rappers will perform at the Alexander Theatre in Braamfontein, Johannesburg on 3, 4 and 5 December.
The group were formed in 1982 and consists of members Chuck D (vocals), Flava Flav (occasional vocals), and DJ Lord (DJ).
They are popular for their politically charged lyrics and criticism of the American media. They also have an active interest in the frustrations and concerns of the African American community.
In 2004, Rolling Stone Magazine ranked PE number forty-four on its list of the Immortals: 100 Greatest Artists of All Time while Acclaimed Music ranks them the 29th most recommended musical act of all time and the highest hip-hop group.
Public Enemy were inducted into the Long Island Music Hall of Fame in 2007.
