Maroon 5 - Songs About Jane

Maroon 5's superb album, Songs About Jane, has earned this new group live slots with the likes of Sheryl Crow and John Mayer, playing to audiences ranging in age from 14 to 40.

Maroon 5 is Adam Levine, Jesse Carmichael, rhythm guitarist James alentine, bassist Mickey Madden and drummer Ryan Dusick. Together, the group has brought a new melodic sophistication and rhythmic propulsion to Adam's words and melodies. Songs About Jane (including “This Love,” “Shiver,” and “Sweetest Goodbye”) combines the electric charge of great rock and roll with the emotional directness of great music.

Though on first listen it may be tempting to describe Maroon 5 as simply an American Jamiroquai with more developed songwriting skills, the comparison really only scratches the surface of the quintet's diverse sound. Throughout SONGS ABOUT JANE, leader Adam Levine and his band deftly combine a distinctive old school R&B/disco/electro vibe.
