Robert Plant - Mighty Rearranger
Robert Plant's new album is an extraordinary accomplishment from one of the most inventive, consistently daring and talented figures in contemporary music. Once again, Plant is joined by his band, the Strange Sensation who worked with him on the 2002 Grammy nominated, DREAMLAND.
More than simply a backing band, the group has been vital in the development of what looks set to be one of this year's most talked about albums. Formed with Robert Plant in 2001, the band draws together talent from the broad spectrum of contemporary musicians. Among these are Clive Dreamer (Portishead, Roni Size) on drums and bassist John Baggott who has also played with Portishead as well as Massive Attack.
Other members of the Strange Sensation include Billy Fuller on bass (from Bristol band Fuzz against Junk), Skin on ambient guitar (formerly of Brit Pop phenomena Cast) and Justin Adams playing gimbri, darbouka and guitar, late of Sinead O'Connor, Jah Wobble and the Wayward Shakes.
THE MIGHTY REARRANGER is a collection of 12 all-new songs. Committed and powerful, the album is an electrifying tour deforce that explores world music influences. The album recalls the drive and passion of Robert Plant and Led Zepplin's strongest work and is packed full of explosive riffs, compulsive guitar hooks as well as tender and highly expressive arrangements. First single off the album is “Shine it All Around”. THE MIGHTY REARRANGER is a must-have album for all Plant's fans and any fan of rock music with a real twist.
