This is the soundtrack to the novel Zoo City, featuring a lush, dark, gritty mix of kwaito and electronica from Ishmael to Markus Wormstorm, Mix ‘n Blend, Liver, Brown Dash, Lark, 37MPH and Sibot among others, painstakingly put together by Dope’s HoneyB to evoke the feel of Lauren Beukes’ new novel.

Acclaimed writer Lauren Beukes' second novel, "Zoo City" is set in a wildly re-imagined Johannesburg. It is a muti noir about refugees, crime, the music industry, magic, the ghosts of our past and the struggle for redemption.

The fact that Lauren has chosen to collaborate with African Dope on her two latest projects speaks to the left-field, adventurous and unshackled nature of her writing.
